Coverage Program

Our Coverage Program is laser-focused on acquiring links to your website’s content.

We combine long-form content, proven link-earning formats, and brand-friendly outreach & link acquisition.

In other words – we built the results-driven link building program that you’re not ashamed to show to your VP.

or scroll down and we’ll tell you more…

It’s hard to earn editorial links that drive the results you want.

It’s even harder when you need to scale it into a program that can earn hundreds of new referring domains per year without sacrificing quality.

Your site already has great content – but you’re fighting off large competitors with bigger link profiles and you need to close the gap.

We’re not the agency that picks off a few links here and there for small business clients. We’re the agency that has worked alongside household name brands trying to grow from 1k referring domains to 10k and beyond, and helped them grow by hundreds of new referring domains per year.

Our Coverage Program takes 8 years of content marketing agency experience and rolls it into one standalone program that delivers reliable link acquisition.

And we can do it for significantly less than it takes to build an in-house outreach team that you have to manage yourself – our programs start as low as $5,000 per month.

“We’ve been through all of the headaches and different methods of trying to secure solid editorial links – our coverage program is designed to skip all of that and focus on proven content formats and outreach methods.”

Sarah Breckon,
Managing Director

+100 Referring Domains
+45,000 Monthly Organic Sessions

45,000 new organic visitors per month to client’s blog, a 150% growth within 6 months of kickoff.

How Our Coverage-Driven Content Program Works

1. We Apply Our Playbook to Your Niche

Our team maintains an ongoing database of project types that have worked for us in the past, and we analyze your niche to understand what’s working for competitors. We’re looking for project concepts with big opportunities, the kind of projects that have the potential to eventually earn 50+ referring domains.

2. We Pitch The Initial Ideas

We identify the best content opportunities, then work with you to determine which one are on-brand, within scope, and offer the most link potential.

Once we’ve identified the initial 2-3 projects with your team, our Creative Team jumps in and starts production.

3. We Build The Content

We build the content complete with custom shareable graphics and other unique elements to create a high-quality piece that will enhance your content library and win links.

We use a variety of formats, and content is thoroughly-researched and long-form — typically 1,500 to 2,000+ words in length, with formats like evergreen resources, comprehensive explainers, trend updates, and curated lists.

Our team also does an amazing job at keeping content on brand – client creative teams consistently thank us for the time and effort we put into matching brand guidelines and voice.

4. We Launch The Content

We stage and launch the content on your website (or hand off to your team if you prefer) and give your team the social copy and graphics you need to promote the content on your normal channels, like your newsletter and social media feeds.

While that is happening, our team is busy prospecting and getting ready for our side of the promotion.

5. We Promote The Content

Within 30-60 days of kickoff, we’re jumping in on initial outreach. We usually see initial links live in month 2 or 3 of a program.

Our baseline performance goal is to build an average of 10-20 links to every asset.

But, it’s not uncommon to see 30-50+ referring domains in certain niches, and most assets go on to earn more organic links over time. (Scroll down to the pricing section and we’ll tell you more about link volume)

6. We Keep Promoting

Once we’re done with an initial outreach phase we’ll move into outreach for the next project. But – so long as we’re working together, our team continues to pick off additional link opportunities that we spot for past projects.

Whether it’s the perfect HARO request or an unlinked mention that goes live, we keep an eye on all projects we’ve launched together and continue to send emails and build links.

Examples Of Promotion Outcomes

We don’t promise traffic and conversions coming out of the content we produce in a coverage-driven program – those do occur, but this program is focused on building authority to help the rest of your webpages rank better.

But, with consistent outreach combined with strong existing content elsewhere on the site, we regularly see strong sitewide traffic outcomes from growing your link profile through outreach-driven content.

100 to 250 Referring Domains.

Example of Referring Domain Growth After 6 Months

5k to 12k estimated monthly sessions.

Example of Organic Traffic Growth After 6 Months

Actual 6-month results from a client with $10-15k monthly budget.

What types of placements does our team earn? Each project type is different – some are very resource-driven assets that earn links from webmasters and bloggers. Other times we’ll focus on more data-driven content that has the potential to be cited by journalists and different styles of bloggers. The one thing that most of these assets have in common is that they’re evergreen and often go on to earn links organically from major publishers.

What Type Of Websites Are The Links From?

A sampling of the higher authority domains that our content has earned links from.

It’s inevitable that savvy SEO teams will want to see things like domain authority metrics and types of domains. Rather than making you guess, here is a list of actual domain types and metric ranges from 2 recent campaigns. We don’t include the domain itself to keep the identity of those clients private.

A Note on Link Metrics: We don’t focus on arbitrary DA and DR metrics that can be gamed – we focus on links from pages or domains that are relevant to the page-level topic we’re promoting.

A Note on Topical Relevance: If you’re a real estate domain and our we’re promoting content about pets and housing, we’ll typically be doing outreach in the pet niche more than the real estate niche. That means we can help your domain get exposure outside of the obvious industry links you and your competitors already have.

Content Formats That We’ll Use

We use a combination of keyword research and content performance metrics to identify the core topics your audience searches for, and we’ll look for topics in your space that reliably earn links. Once we pitch you those topics, we might use a variety of content formats like these:

  • Niche Audience Resource Guides
  • Downloadable Resources
  • Data, Statistics, & Trends
  • Curated Resource Lists

Keep in mind — the primary goal of these content assets is help earn links for your domain. We work hard to build linkable assets that are more on-brand than what other agencies would produce for you, but, the goal of this content isn’t to drive huge traffic numbers or appeal to your entire customer base.

This program only works if you have other strong content on your domain that can benefit from the authority we’re building for you.

What Our Clients Say

We’ve worked extensively with software, eCommerce, and lead gen companies over the years. View more reviews on our Clutch profile.

“The first project that we did with Fixture Media was a test run to see how well we worked together and how good they were. That work increased pageviews on our marketing site by almost 300%, increased our session duration by 150%, and also dropped our bounce rate by about 13%.”

“I have been working with Fixture Media for 2 months now and so far I must say I am impressed with the quality of service they provide. They have been very thorough in project approach and very creative in tackling some of the issues I have challenged them with.”

“I’ve always felt really pleased about Fixture Media’s approach and their responsiveness – they were on the ball and knew hat we were doing since day one. [Within 12 months] we’ve gone from around 5,000 visitors per day to upwards of 90,000 per day from organic search.”

We stopped updating these badges every year when they give us new ones, but don’t worry, we’ve got a bunch of them.

Pricing

We like to be transparent with our pricing, and we want you to understand how our content marketing programs are structured in order to help you assess whether we’re a good fit for your brand.

And we hate agency sales processes with smoke and mirrors and people guessing each other’s budget and pricing. So, we’re laying our cards out here instead.

Once you reach out, we’ll do our own research on your site to see if we think we can deliver good results for you. Then, we’ll schedule a call to discuss your business and your audience, and answer questions you have about the program.

FAQ

What the heck is a “baseline goal”?

We like to underpromise and overdeliver. With most clients, we set a baseline goal to demonstrate what we think is a minimum outcome for the program. Honestly – if we don’t deliver on our baseline goal, we don’t expect to get hired again after the initial term is complete. So our team is heavily incentivized to not just beat our baseline goal, but to hit a larger stretch goal that we set during the proposal process.

Can you promote my existing content? Can my team write the content?

Sometimes, but probably not. Most of our clients don’t have the specific types of content already on their site that we need in order to see success from promotion.

Sometimes clients have in-house content teams capable of producing editorial content. If we proceed on a project where we do allow your team to produce the content, we still need strict control over the creative brief and final outcome of the content, and we need your team to commit to a short turnaround time for each assignment. In that event, we keep our pricing the same and simply dedicate any extra time to more outreach.

Aren’t there cheaper places I can buy content and links?

Yup, but, don’t expect the same content quality, the same dedication to producing custom graphics, and don’t expect those companies to do content outreach that you’d be comfortable putting your brand’s name on. We’ve even hired many of them to do work for websites we own, just to see if we’re missing out on anything.

Our team comes with multiple built-in quality assurances that other teams skip over, from our subject matter hiring process to in-house editing and proofreading. We put the same care into our outreach efforts, and we’re happy to show you all of the outreach that’s going out on behalf of your brand.

When you compare us to other teams that value quality as much as we do, and put as much effort as we do into producing content backed by data-driven keyword research, we’re priced very competitively, and much more transparently.

Will you stick to link metrics like DA over 30?

The short answer is no. Our projects are designed to maximize the number of good quality links that we can earn for a piece of content. While links from higher authority domains certainly pass more link value in a traditional sense, there are two good reasons you shouldn’t build this in as a project requirement.

First, it’s unnatural. Good research from Russ Jones of Moz on the topic of backlink distribution shows how easy it is for Google to observe sites with artificial link building metrics in place.

Second, we’re not going to ignore perfectly good, topical links from trustworthy sites simply because they’re not in the top 10% of domains on the web. Your local library or non-profit is a great source for a link, and it’s silly to dismiss thousands of similar link opportunities simply because they’re not a large resource.

There are certainly project types that allow us to target higher average authority domains – any project focused on journalists at large publications is a good example. We do work on those project types, however, we pitch clients on projects based upon overall opportunity, not link metrics. Take a look at the sample domain list above to see what an average set of campaigns will produce in regards to link metrics and types of domains.

Program Requirements

Any program this good has to have some entry requirements, right?

We have a few ground rules that are in place to ensure the success of your program.

Branded Email Addresses:

Our program is designed with content promotion going out as [name]@yourbrand.com. If your company isn’t able to create an inbox that can connect to our outreach software, we may need to adjust costs or expectations around what type of link acquisition results you can expect.

We’re Not Your Technical SEO Team:

If your team is struggling with SEO basics on your site, then we may not be your best investment. While our team is seriously good at growing organic traffic, we have to be publishing on a domain with good technical foundations to support that performance. We can refer you to some decent technical SEO consultants or agencies if you need help with that first.

Working Analytics & Conversion Tracking:

We need to be able to see goals like email signups, contact inquiries, and eCommerce conversions accurately tracking in Google Analytics. We can help you set this up if it’s missing or not up to our standards.

Flexible Editorial Requirements:

Part of the program success is tied to the type of content we produce. We’ll bring ideas to you that are relevant to your business but more importantly, they’ll be interesting to your audience and backed by link opportunities.

The goal is not to produce an article on why people should buy what you’re selling — the goal is to get outreach prospects to visit your site and trust your brand enough to link to the content. Those links will help raise organic traffic to the rest of your content that your audience cares about.

Up-To-Date Website Software & Design:

We can make this program work on multiple platforms, however, if your site was built on Joomla and designed in 2009, then we probably aren’t going to be the best use of your marketing budget.

Partnerships

If you work at another agency or vendor, and your clients could benefit from growing their domains link profile, please reach out regarding referral or partnership opportunities.

Note: Unfortunately our services are too high touch for us to be able to offer white-label partnerships.
